An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #12 ("The Glory of Comrades") One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Three Musketeers, the 1933 Colbert Clark & Armand Schaefer Foreign Legion military action adventure serial ("A Modern Version"; "A Smashing Serial In 12 Thrilling Chapters"; loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas) starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Jack Mulhall, Raymond Hatton, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman Jr."), Noah Beery Jr., Lon Chaney Jr. (billed under his given name of "Creighton Chaney"), and Robert Warwick. Note that this is a then-modern day version of the Dumas classic, with Mulhall, Hatton, and Bushman as the modern day Three Musketeers and John Wayne as the modern day D'Artagnan. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. The poster has two evenly spaced vertical foldlines instead of the usual one. There were creases and tiny tears along most of the foldlines and pinholes, tears, and creases around the edges of the poster. The poster was pretty well linenbacked (it looks nice from any distance away), but the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Also, there are two small dots of surface paper loss in Wayne's pants. It would be a simple matter for any restorer to touch up this area without re-backing the poster.
