Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Orson Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons, the 1942 Orson Welles historical family relationship romantic melodrama ("From the man who made 'The Best Picture of 1941'"; "'Keep away from my Mother... You're making her the Talk of the Town!'..."; "Orson Welles' Mercury Production of Booth Tarkington's Great Novel"; "The startling drama of a girl, wealthy and beautiful, who let pride break the heart of the man who adored her. A revealing challenge to every woman who thinks she can deny love!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about the haughty heir of a wealthy family, and his comeuppance he receives over the course of his life) starring Joseph Cotten, Dolores Costello, Anne Baxter, Tim Holt, Agnes Moorehead (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Ray Collins, Erskine Sanford, and Richard Bennett. Note that many film buffs consider this movie to be similar in quality to "Citizen Kane" (made by Welles just prior to this movie), with the notable exception of the ending (the studio took the movie away from Welles, and substituted a ridiculous "happy" ending in place of Welles' somber one, and that new ending was not filmed by Welles; apparently, the original ending no longer exists, and finding it would be one of the greatest possible finds of "lost" film ever!) It appears that prior to paperbacking the borders of the poster were tattered and the person who paperbacked it carefully laid new blank borders over the old ones (many people would not realize this without it being told to them). The image area has had next to no restoration of any kind. There were pinholes in each corner and some faint smudges in the yellow background areas. They were greatly minimized during the paperbacking process, but they are noticeable on close inspection. I have never seen this poster before or seen it offered! It was never folded and the image area of the poster is almost completely unrestored. I can't imagine a collector who would not be happy with this poster! Learn More about condition grades
