An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41") (Learn More) Mary Regan, the 1919 Lois Weber silent New York City romantic love triangle crime melodrama ("Heroine of LeRoy Scott's sensational nine edition novel of big business and big pleasure"; "When 'Big Business' relaxes and squanders its swollen profits on 'Big Pleasure' in New York's Midnight joy ground, the whole glittering underworld dances to its whim."; about a pretty young woman whose mother was an heiress who married a thief, wanting to reform him, but he died in prison; now the young woman is sought after by the District Attorney, but she fears her past would hurt him; instead, she marries a bad man, trying to reform him, just as her mother did, but after he is killed in a fight, she realizes that she truly loves the District Attorney) starring Anita Stewart (in the title role as "Mary Regan"), Frank Mayo, Carl Miller, J. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a very interesting group of silent one-sheets from the late 1910s and early 1920s that were found under a carpet in a VERY old house! We have no idea why, but at some point in the early 1920s, someone took around 30 one-sheet posters and placed them in a stack under a carpet (perhaps to hide them?). They stayed there undisturbed for the next 75 or so years, until someone ripped up the carpet and found them. MANY OF THE POSTERS HAD SUSTAINED CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE, WHILE OTHERS WERE NOT THAT DAMAGED AT ALL. All of these posters absolutely need expert professional restoration (obviously, some will require much more restoration than others), but in many cases, the poster we are offering may well be the only surviving example of that poster, so it would seem they are all well worth "rescuing". But please do not bid on any of these posters unless you have read our description of their condition, and have carefully studied our super-sized image, and unless you are prepared to pay to have the poster properly restored. Note that some of the posters measure different sizes (some may be trimmed) and we have noted their sizes. Finally, note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 41". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: poor. This poster is in dreadful condition! There are large areas of paper loss and tears throughout the poster.
