An Original Vintage Theatrical Silk Movie Poster Banner (cloth; measures 40" x 48" [102 x 122 cm]) (Learn More)

a stock poster sent to theaters that regularly showed Hopalong Cassidy movies. The theater could put up the poster each time they showed a Hopalong Cassidy movie, and thus use the same poster over and over! The posters would often have a blank area where the title could either be written in, overprinted, or a snipe could be pasted on.

UPDATED 10/25/2010: Note that this silk cloth banner is NOT from the first Hopalong Cassidy film. It is a 1930s stock silk cloth banner (probably from the late 1930s) which could be used by the theatre when a new Hoppy movie was released. Please do not bid thinking it is from the first Hopalong Cassidy film.

Condition: good. There are areas of cloth missing in the borders at lower left and right and there is some light water staining and tattering (mostly) around the edges.
