An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #8 ("Master Strikes") One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Three Musketeers, the 1933 Colbert Clark & Armand Schaefer Foreign Legion military action adventure serial ("A Modern Version"; "A Smashing Serial In 12 Thrilling Chapters"; loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas) starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Jack Mulhall, Raymond Hatton, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman Jr."), Noah Beery Jr., Lon Chaney Jr. (billed under his given name of "Creighton Chaney"), and Robert Warwick. Note that this is a then-modern day version of the Dumas classic, with Mulhall, Hatton, and Bushman as the modern day Three Musketeers and John Wayne as the modern day D'Artagnan. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. The poster was unusually folded in that it had two evenly spaced vertical foldlines instead of one. The borders of the poster were slightly tattered, and new paper has been very carefully placed over the old paper (it was very well done, and I don't know if many people would realize it unless it was specifically shown to them). There were some small holes in the top of the vertical foldlines (including some in the letters of the title and a small hole between the "TE" of "MUSKETEERS" in the title. There were some tears and small paper loss in the right vertical foldline going through Wayne's face and some other creases and tears on the other foldlines. The person who restored the poster did a good job, but you can still see some signs of the restoration. Learn More about condition grades
