Note that even though the United States had not joined the war, many saw it as inevitable and posters like this were created to increase the size of the military. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a 7" tear and scattered paper loss in the top right corner and paper loss scattered from the middle of the right border to the bottom right corner, where there was large paper loss, but almost all of that paper loss in the right border was blank white paper except for a small amount in the lady's elbow and in the lower right of the "S" of "MARINES". There was a lesser amount of paper loss scattered down the left blank border, all blank white paper. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
