An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Captain Courtesy, the 1915 Phillips Smalley & Lois Weber silent California/Mexico cowboy western ("A story of the Mexican Occupation of California, 1840-46"; about California when it was still owned by Mexico, and a young man's parents are killed by Mexican bandits, and he vows revenge, and he captures bandits and gives the money he gets from them to poor Californians who were themselves victimized, thus earning him the nickname "Captain Courtesy") starring Dustin Farnum ("The eminent star"), Courtenay Foot, Miss Winifred Kingston, Herbert Standing, Jack Hoxie, and Carl Von Schiller. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
