An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Cabin in the Sky, the 1943 Vincente Minnelli black African American musical ("At last on the screen! The musical comedy sensation!"; "Entertainment galore! Gorgeous girls! Songs!"; "The Sensational Broadway Musical!"; "What a Cast!"; "Brilliant cast of entertainers"' one of the first major all-black movies from a major studio, intended to be shown to both white and black audiences) starring Ethel Waters ("Famed Torch Singer"), Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson ( "Funnier Than Ever"), Lena Horne ("Gorgeous Song-Bird"), Louis Armstrong, Rex Ingram (as Lucifer Jr.), Duke Ellington & His Orchestra, The Hall Johnson Choir, Willie Best, Mantan Moreland, Kenneth Spencer, John William Sublett (as Bubbles), Ford Washington Lee (as Buck), and Oscar Polk. Note that Sublett and Lee appeared together in a number of movies as "Buck and Bubbles". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the lobby cards from this movie all look like title cards, but there is a regular title card, which clearly is the title card, and this scene and the other six scenes are not title cards, but look like they could be. Also note that the artwork on this card looks like the work of Al Hirschfeld, who definitely did a full artwork one-sheet for this movie, and his signed art is on another of the scene cards, but we don't know if he did the art on this lobby cards, or if it is possibly the work of another artist (and if so, it is definitely someone drawing "in the Hirschfeld style"). If anyone knows for certain either way, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. There are some faint smudges scattered in the card, most noticeably in the center around the star-shaped MGM logo at center. There are three tiny dots of surface paper loss in Horne's skirt at lower left. Other than the above defects, the card is in pretty nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
