Date Sold 12/10/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #10 ("Poison Waters") Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) Lightning Bryce, the 1919 Paul Hurst silent treasure hunt cowboy western serial ("Arrow Film Corporation Offers The Greatest Serial Ever Made") starring Ann Little, Jack Hoxie (in the title role as Lightning Bryce), Yakima Canutt, George Champion, Steve Clemente, Ben Corbett, George Hunter, Slim Lucas, Walter Patterson, and Paul Hurst. Note that Jack Hoxie had appeared in movies for several years prior to this one (he was a rodeo star who started as a stunt man, and graduated to supporting roles), but this was his first real starring role as the central hero of the movie (he was born John Stone, but he had previously been billed as "Hartford Hoxie", but this movie was the first where he was billed as "Jack Hoxie", the name he would keep the rest of his career). Also note that the villain of the movie is played by the director, Paul Hurst! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had creases, tears, and some areas of paper loss in the borders, and some tears and tiny areas of paper loss in some of the foldlines, and some small paper loss at some crossfolds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking (especially considering it is 90 years-old!). The poster was quite nicely backed, and really well!
