An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) War Dogs, the 1943 William Hanna & Joseph Barbera (Hanna-Barbera) World War II (WWII) military canine dog animated cartoon comedy short (produced by Fred Quimby; this is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon parody adaptation of "Buck Privates"; it is about the dogs that were used in the military, and it follows one particularly inept dog through the canine version of "basic training"). It has a Tex Avery-like feel to it, and either Hanna and Barbera were intentionally imitating Tex Avery, or perhaps he had a hand in creating this, because he worked at MGM at this time, and had just created "Blitz Wolf" (but if so, he is not credited on this cartoon). Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster was folded in half an extra time. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and very minor wear on the foldlines. It had a 3" vertical tear just to the right of the top crossfold, in the top of the "A" of "WAR", and in the background above it. It had some tiny pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
