This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thinner paper backing, it COULD be sent rolled, but we would MUCH prefer to send it in a large flat package (because we fear that rolling it, even into a wide tube, would have an excellent change of damaging it, so we will only send it in a tube if the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage), but otherwise, we will ship it in a large flat package, so bear that expense in mind before bidding on this poster. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and some creases and scuffs on the folds, with minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was well backed, but it was framed and displayed, and the poster has faded (the top orange color is not as bright as it once was, and the red behind the word "train" is much less bright). Also, the original restoration paint that was put on the folds is now more noticeable, because the restoration paint did not fade as the poster did. There are also some creases in the corners that were not there when it was paperbacked. Please bear in mind these defects before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
