An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) Ramona, the 1936 Henry King Old California Native American Indian interracial romance family relationship romantic melodrama ("In the new perfected Technicolor"; "Based on the novel by Helen Hunt Jackson") starring Loretta Young (in the title role as Ramona), Don Ameche, Kent Taylor, Pauline Frederick, Jane Darwell, Katherine DeMille, John Carradine, Russell Simpson, "and a cast of thousands!" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Rohmann Important Added Info: This Swedish poster measures approximately 27" x 39" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had two small tears on the foldline above Young's left arm. There was minor wear on the other foldlines and pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the tiny defects, but they are really not at all distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
