An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) My Friend Irma, the 1949 George Marshall romantic slapstick comedy ("You'll say: 'Funniest picture of my life!'"; "Based on the CBS Radio Program 'My Friend Irma' created by Cy Howard"; about a female office worker looking to have a romance with her boss, but she has to deal with the wacky escapades of her scatterbrained friend, Irma) starring John Lund, Diana Lynn, Don DeFore, Marie Wilson (in the title role "as Irma"), Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis (billed as "introducing Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis"; in their movie debut!), and Nick Cravat. Note that Paramount had signed Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis to a movie contract, and they oddly stuck them into this movie that didn't really need them, and they also appeared in the sequel movie, "My Friend Irma Goes West". Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never machine folded, but it was folded down the center, and it had some wear on the vertical fold in the bottom part of the red background at center. It had creases, smudges, scuffs, and a few tears around the edges. There was a crease in Wilson's elbow and some stains in her body. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
