A Framed Original Vintage Unfolded German World War I Poster (measures 19" x 26 1/2" [48 x 67 cm]) (Learn More)

Gebt Fur Die U-Boot Spende (literally translates to "Give for the Submarine Donation"), the 1917 German World War I (WWI) War Bonds poster encouraging people to purchase bonds to help the war efforts, and featuring Willy Stower artwork of a German submarine crew
Artist: Willy Stower
Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare poster from Germany from before World War II, which we have never auctioned before! There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. And German war posters from World War I are many, many times more rare than WWI posters from other countries (of the 1,180 World War I posters we have auctioned, only 16 were from Germany).

Our consignor had this poster in a very nice professionally done frame, and he sent it to us that way. The winning bidder can have the poster shipped together with its frame in a very large flat package, or if they don't want the frame, we will ship the poster by itself (that will be the choice of the high bidder). We have provided an image of the poster in and out of the frame.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has slight uneven darkening in the blank borders from when it was in a frame, and the back of the poster has darkened somewhat. It has just a few faint creases and scuffs scattered in the image, but overall, it has survived in about as nice condition as one could hope.
