An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Woman to Woman, the 1923 Graham Cutts English silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Adapted from the play by Michael Morton"; about a wealthy man who loses his memory in World War I after having an affair with a French cabaret star; he takes a new identity, and marries, not knowing that he left behind a child with the cabaret star; years later, he goes to one of her performances, and seeing her brings back his memory!; she becomes gravely ill, and she dies after a performance, and she leaves her son to be raised by her former husband and his new wife) starring Betty Compson, Clive Brook, Josephine Earle, Marie Ault, and Victor McLaglen (as an uncredited "Nubian slave"). Note that Alfred Hitchcock met Alma Reville on the set of this movie (she was the film's editor). Hitchcock had been hired solely to design titles for the movie, which got him a writer's credit, but during the course of filming, he managed to also become its art director and, ultimately, its assistant director, making it the first film he helped direct. Two years later, he would fully direct his first movie, "The Pleasure Garden", and the following year, he would marry Alma Reville! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this movie is one of the number of movies that Alfred Hitchcock worked on prior to becoming a full fledged director (in this case he was assistant director and art director). Prior to being consigned this title card, the only movie paper we had ever auctioned from this title was two stills! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair to good. The card has darkened unevenly. There is paper loss around the edges, extending into the background at top left. There are stains in the top border and a few in the bottom center (see our images). Someone put a tiny piece of tape on the back of the bottom left corner, but otherwise, the card has had no restoration. It is fortunate that most of the defects are in the blank borders or in the solid background area. After proper restoration, the card will display great and require little restoration anywhere in the writing or images. Learn More about condition grades
