An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Jailhouse Rock, the classic 1957 Richard Thorpe rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) crime prison romantic musical ("His first big dramatic singing role!"; about a young man who is sent to prison for manslaughter, and while there he is helped to become a singer/musician by an older convict, and after he is released, he becomes a major rock star!) starring Elvis Presley ("At His Greatest"), Judy Tyler (who sadly died in an auto accident before the release of the film), Mickey Shaughnessy, Dean Jones, Jennifer Holden, and Anne Neyland NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Bradshaw Crandell Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster was never folded. It had tears, stains, and areas of paper loss in the upper right background area and down the right side of the poster, with a lesser amount in the other three borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed the poster and likely did a pretty good job of restoring it when it was first backed, but after it was backed, it was displayed, and the reds in the poster that did not have restoration paint on them faded to an orange color, while the restoration paint at right did not fade, so it is incredibly noticeable. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this very considerable defect or are willing to pay to have further restoration. Learn More about condition grades
