An Original Vintage Movie Trade Ad (measures 9 1/2" x 12" [24 x 30 cm]; 4 pages; unfolds to 9 1/2" x 23 3/4"; see below) (Learn More)

The Postman Always Rings Twice, the classic 1946 Tay Garnett romantic love triangle murder crime film noir ("Their Love was a Flame that Destroyed!"; "The Book that Blazed to Best-Seller Fame!"; "Based on the novel by James M. Cain"; about a woman trapped in a loveless marriage who gets a drifter to kill her husband, and it seems like they will get away with it, but will they?) starring Lana Turner, John Garfield, Cecil Kellaway, Hume Cronyn, Leon Ames, Audrey Totter, and Alan Reed. Note that this movie was re-made in 1981 by Bob Rafelson, starring Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange

Important Added Info: Note that this great ad (with its great die-cut cover, which opens into a fantastic 9 1/2" x 23 3/4" full-length image of scantily clad Lana Turner) was sent to theater owners to try to get them to book this movie. This ad was removed from the May 18, 1946 issue of Box Office magazine (that is printed in silver ink at the bottom). We have pictured the front and back of the ad folded up and completely unfolded. We have auctioned this wonderful trade ad twice before (but the first one was slightly different, because it was not from Box Office, but rather a trade ad that was sent to theaters), once in 2013 for $227, and once in 2015 for $300!

Condition: good to very good. The ad was removed from a magazine. There are creases in the upper part of Turner's head, running down into the bridge of her nose in the full-length image, but it is not very distracting from any reasonable viewing distance. Otherwise, the ad is in really nice condition!
