Horne silent fantasy comedy action spy melodrama (a young man's father has invented a "death ray", and the father's secretary has stolen the plans for it, and he tells his son to retrieve them, but his son thinks it is an elaborate hoax to cheer him up, and he "plays along", not realizing that there are real spies that he is fighting!) starring Richard Talmadge, Joseph W. Girard, Joseph Harrington, Eva Novak, and Stanhope Wheatcroft. Note that Richard Talmadge was born "Sylvester Alphonse Metz", and he was an acrobat with the Barnum and Bailey Circus. He got a job in Hollywood as a stuntman for Douglas Fairbanks Sr., and then graduated to starring in movies, always performing lots of stunts. He had two acrobat brothers, Otto Metzetti and Victor Metz, who appeared with him in some of his movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This group of silent lobby cards is one of many that were consigned to us by a very long time collector. Almost all of the groups were in surprisingly nice condition, but not surprisingly, many of them had smudges or stains in the blank borders, with a few pinholes or small tears. The collector approached a restorer, and asked that all the cards have touch up performed on the fronts of the cards in the borders (as needed), but that none of them be backed in any way. You can tell that the cards have had some border restoration (some of it is more "felt" than seen), but they will display really well on the new owner's walls (or in albums). And many of these cards are from EXTREMELY rare titles! Condition: very good.
