While Blondie Burns!"; "Balance your fun budget!"; one of the highly successful series of "Blondie" movies; based on the classic Blondie comic strip by Chic Young) starring Penny Singleton (in the title role "as Blondie"), Arthur Lake ("as Dagwood Bumstead"), Larry Simms ("as Baby Dumpling"), Rita Hayworth ("Stunning Rita Hayworth helps make it The Best Of The 'Blondies'"; in an early role as a sexy woman who tempts Dagwood), Danny Mummert, and Daisy (the dog). Note that at this time, Columbia recognized what an asset Rita Hayworth was, and even though she was not yet a major star, they "found" parts for her in many of their movies in the late 1930s and very early 1940s (she had roles in an amazing 30 movies between 1937 and 1942!). Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. The slide must have been used more than once, because a theater removed the bottom play dates area and hand-lettered in new play dates.
