Date Sold 3/13/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese Export (printed for use in Spanish speaking countries) "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) Kaiju Daisenso (released in other English-speaking countries as "Invasion of Astro-Monster" and "Godzilla vs Monster Zero"), the 1965 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller starring Godzilla (king of the monsters!), Rodan (the flying monster), King Ghidrah (the three-headed dragon monster), Nick Adams, Akira Takarada, Jun Tazaki, Kumi Mizuno, and Gary Graham. In this movie, Godzilla's look was made less severe and more friendly, befitting the protector that his character was becoming (although he still accidentally caused much damage on his own), and the film also featured the famous (or infamous) Godzilla "shie" victory dance! Also, note that this movie was made in Japan in 1965, but was not released in the U.S. until 1970 (it was released in some other countries between 1965 and 1970), and when it was released in the U.S. in 1970, it was not released by itself, but solely on a double-bill with "War of the Gargantuas" (and they put "ALL NEW" on the poster, because it WAS new to U.S. audiences in 1970). The delay seems to be related to the death of star Nick Adams and an internal business dispute with the U.S. distributors. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Also note that this Japanese B1 poster was printed in Japan, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in Spanish speaking countries. Also note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There is light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
