An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Check and Double Check, the 1930 Melville W. Brown (billed as "Mel Brown") Amos & Andy slapstick family relationship black African American-played-by-white-actors-in-blackface haunted house horror comedy ("Amos 'n' Andy on the screen! All Talking"; "Here they are! On the screen!"; "Their first all-talking motion picture"; the first and only movie adapted from the hit radio show, with the white voice actors playing their parts in blackface; while at a Mystic Knights of the Sea convention, Andy unluckily is chosen to spend the night in a haunted house) starring Freeman F. Gosden (as Amos), Charles J. Correll (as Andy), Irene Rich, Sue Carol, Ralf Harolde, Russ Powell (as Kingfish), and Roscoe Ates. Note that this was the only movie ever adapted from this extremely popular radio series, and RKO created a wonderful one-sheet for it. In 1951 to 1953, there was a very popular TV show, which starred black African American actors in the lead roles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster's blank borders were trimmed off, but the person who did that was very careful to not trim the small text in the bottom blank border at left and right (the trimming occurred below that area). They also did not trim into the image on the other three sides, although there were a few tiny bits of paper loss in those three borders. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. The colors of the poster were very bright and fresh, and clearly not faded at all. It is difficult to grade a poster with this exact defect, because only blank white paper was affected, and otherwise, the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed by a really talented restorer, who expertly recreated the missing parts of the borders, and it displays really well. But bear in mind this unusual defect before bidding on this extremely rare and historic poster. Learn More about condition grades
