An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Miss Sadie Thompson, the 1953 Curtis Bernhardt 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) South-Seas romantic prostitute-and-preacher musical ("Rita turns it on!!!"; "Rita turns it loose!!!"; "It's Rita Hayworth and men! Men! Men! In 3-D"; "It's Rita on the prowl!"; "Rita in 3D!"; "Songs your mother never taught you!"; "The Heat Is On - On The Way!"; "The Sin-Chaser - The Dame Chaser!"; "Entertainment Is Her Business!"; "Spontaneous Combustion!"; "She's the gal with a little something extra for the boys!"; "Based on a story by W. Somerset Maugham") starring Rita Hayworth (in the title role as Sadie Thompson), Jose Ferrer, Aldo Ray, Russell Collins, Diosa Costello, Charles Bronson (in his second credited movie role!), and Henry Slate. Note that there was an silent version of this movie in 1928 under the title "Sadie Thompson", starring Gloria Swanson and Lionel Barrymore, and a sound version of this movie, under the title "Rain" in 1932, starring Joan Crawford, and Walter Huston! Also note that this movie was filmed in Hawaii on Kauhi Hanelei Pier, Lamahai Beach, Coco Palms, Kalapaks, and the former Charles Rice home. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was one of the last 3-D movies. It was first released in 1953 in its 3-D release, and after the 3-D craze was over, the movie was released December 25, 1953 in a "2-D" version, with no mention of 3-D. Oddly, the NSS number for this 2-D release is "54/11" which would seem to indicate it was released in 1954, but apparently the NSS began using numbers for the upcoming year before it was actually that year. Please bid knowing this poster is from the 1953 2-D release and has an NSS number of "54/11"! Also note that this window card was folded in half, and because it was folded perfectly in half, it can be sent in one of our standard size mailers. If it is purchased by itself (or solely with other posters that can be sent in standard size mailers), it will be sent that way. But if it is purchased with posters that need to be sent in oversized mailers, then we will of course send it that way. Condition: fair. Someone painted over the tagline at upper left (it read "TURNS IT ON!!!"; apparently this was too risque for the theater showing this movie in 1953!). The card was folded once in each direction. There are tears and slight darkening around the edges., as well as some staining within the image. Learn More about condition grades
