Horman and Rolland Gillett"; it starts in the 1930s with a group of mail pilots and one of them has a gold digging girlfriend who comes between the two best friends, and later, they end up enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the start of World War II, but they are not allowed to fly fighter planes due to their age, and they become pilot instructors, but the lead among them gets into all kinds of trouble, and ends up nobly giving his life to save many others) starring James Cagney, Dennis Morgan, Brenda Marshall, Alan Hale Sr., George Tobias, Hardie Albright, Reginald Gardiner, and Reginald Denny NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that included with the transparency is a loose snipe that reads "JAMES CAGNEY in Warner Bros.' CAPTAIN OF THE CLOUDS", surely put there by the studio. Note that this is the transparency film that was in the camera when the photographer took this image. Studios would take this camera original and make very high quality duplicates of it, which they would distribute to theaters and media outlets and those are "studio issued" transparencies. What is a transparency? They are produced by the studio and are very high quality and were created in quantity and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). A clear border around a 4x5 transparency denotes duplication from a negative source, a black border denotes duplication from a positive source. This transparency is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the sleeve.
