An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War II Poster (measures 28 3/4" x 39 3/4" [73 x 101 cm]) (Learn More)

We Have Just Begun to Fight!, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) poster ("Pearl Harbor"; "Bataan"; "Coral Sea"; "Midway"; "Guadalcanal"; "New Guinea"; "Bismarck Sea"; "Casablanca"; "Algiers"; "Tunisia") featuring artwork of a soldier carrying a rifle with bayonet in his right hand and raising his left. Note that there is a 1916 French World War I (WWI) war bonds poster that has a soldier in an extremely similar pose to this. Obviously, the artist of this poster (unknown to us) drew his inspiration from the French one.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had just a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds and a small dot stain in the lower right blank border . Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
