Date Sold 6/25/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Benton REPRODUCTION Window Card Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Plan Nine From Outer Space, the 1958 Ed Wood (billed as "Edward D. Wood, Jr.") science fiction (sci-fi) zombie horror thriller ("Unspeakable horrors from outer space paralyze the living and resurrect the dead!"; some consider this to be the very worst movie ever!) starring Bela Lugosi, Maila Nurmi (billed as "Vampira"; as the Vampire Girl), Lyle Talbot, Gregory Walcott, Mona McKinnon, Duke Moore, Tom Keene, Carl Anthony, Paul Marco, Tor Johnson, Dudley Manlove, Joanna Lee, John Brechinridge, Norma McCarty, Lynn Lemon, Conrad Brooks, and Tom Mason (as "Ghoul Man with Cape Over Face"). Note that Lugosi died during the beginning of filming in 1956, but the ever resourceful Ed Wood (knowing his movie would be doomed without his top star) hired his wife Kathy's chiropractor to film Lugosi's scenes, and he dressed in a vampire-like outfit and held a cape high over his face, and no one knew the difference (and sadly, the chiropractor, Tom Mason, could not, of course, be credited on screen). There is some archival footage of Lugosi that Ed Wood used in the movie as well. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This card is a REPRODUCTION of one made by the Benton Card Company which is a different company than the one that printed most of the window cards in the 1950s and 1960s. The Benton Card Company made mostly two-color window cards that used blown up newspaper ads. Some time in the 1990s, the owners of the Benton Card Company made reproductions of some classic titles, and they put a number in the bottom border with a capital "R" after it, which indicates that it is a REPRODUCTION (and this card is one of those reproductions!). Condition: good to very good. There are some white vertical scuff lines in the right of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
