Zane Grey's The Riders of the Purple Sage, the 1941 James Tinling cowboy western (based on the novel by Zane Grey; about a Texas Ranger whose sister and niece are kidnapped, and he spends the entire movie trying to find them and punish the man who kidnapped them; at the climax, he finds the man, kills him, and runs off with his sister and niece to a secret hidden place) starring George Montgomery, Mary Howard, Robert Barrat, Lynne Roberts, Kane Richmond, and Patsy Patterson. Note that this was considered Zane Grey's greatest novel. It had been previously filmed in 1918, 1925, and again in 1931 with George O'Brien!
