An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Ian Fleming's Goldfinger, the classic 1964 Guy Hamilton English James Bond 007 spy espionage fantasy action adventure thriller ("James Bond is back in action!"; "Everything he touches turns to excitement!!!"; based on the novels by Ian Fleming) starring Sean Connery ("as Agent 007"), Honor Blackman ("as Pussy Galore"), Gert Frobe (in the title role; billed as "Gert Frobe as Goldfinger"), Harold Sakata (as "Oddjob"), Shirley Eaton (as Jill Masterson, the woman covered in gold paint in the film), Tania Mallet (as Tilly Masterson), Bernard Lee (as "M"), Margaret Nolan (as the girl who provides the background for the main titles, the "nude gold girl" on posters, and also as "Dink", one of the Bond girls!), Nadja Regin, Gerry Duggan, Lois Maxwell (as Moneypenny), Richard Vernon, and Cec Linder NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster before, and that was 18 years ago (and it might well have been this very same poster)! Also note that while this poster could theoretically be rolled in a very wide tube, we fear it would almost surely damage it, so we will be sending it in a very large flat package. Please bear this in mind when bidding on this poster, because we will only roll it if the new buyer insists and if they will accept responsibility if it is damaged because it is rolled. Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was never folded. It had a 3" tear near the middle of the right border, and a 3" crease near the middle of the left border. Either before or after the poster was backed, it was displayed, and it faded significantly (all of the reds disappeared from the poster, which affected all the other colors, which had a portion of red in them). Since we don't know whether that occurred before or after backing, we can't say what condition it was in prior to paperbacking. Otherwise, the poster was pretty well backed, and while one would obviously prefer to find a better condition example of this poster, it has been 18 years since we last auctioned one (and it might well have been this very same poster), so one might wait a very long time to find another one in any condition. But please bear in mind the significant fading this poster has before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
