He was married to Joan Crawford between 1935 and 1939. He started out as a leading man, but fairly early on, he shifted to playing "the other man" (the one who never got the girl!), and later he seamlessly shifted to playing character roles. Some of his movies include: Mutiny On The Bounty (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Advise & Consent, Bombshell, Phantom Lady, and Five Graves to Cairo. He passed away in 1968 at the age of 63. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Franchot Tone! It is matted together with a 1930s picture frame photo, and the entire display is ready to frame and hang on the wall! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to very likely be authentic.
