An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Gustaf Tenggren Important Added Info: Note that when Disney created the style A one-sheet for this classic movie, it only showed headshots of the seven dwarfs, but no Snow White, Wicked Witch, or Evil Queen. However, this wonderful style B one-sheet has all of the lead characters, and the art is by Gustaf Tenggren! There is something extra special about this example of this poster! It has NEVER had any restoration. EVERY example of this poster we have ever previously auctioned had been restored, and we searched online, and we only found ONE example anywhere of another unrestored example being auctioned, and that one had paper loss at the top crossfold, which affected the art (and which also means that there is also a great chance that it has been restored since that auction completed). This poster has a piece of tape in each corner, but is otherwise in nice condition, and IS COMPLETELY UNRESTORED! Since most collectible hobbies eventually put a huge premium on items that are unrestored, that may prove to be a giant plus for the appreciation of this poster (and of course, the new owner at any time can choose to have it restored). So this is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase one of the only unrestored examples of this poster! Note that our consignor stored this poster flat for many years, and that has greatly diminished the foldlines. We would much prefer to send it rolled in a tube (actually in a tube within a tube, because of the value!), but we would re-fold it, but only if the new owner insists! WE AUCTIONED THIS VERY POSTER FIVE YEARS AGO, AND THE PERSON WHO PURCHASED IT DID NOT HAVE ANY RESTORATION PERFORMED, AND HAS RECONSIGNED IT TO US! Also, as noted above, this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a very long time and will be sent rolled in a tube, unless the new owner insists on us refolding it. Condition: very good. There is a piece of tape in each corner. There is very slight darkening on parts of some folds. There is a 1/2" vertical tear in the far right of the top horizontal fold (in the white background area) and a similar 1/4" tear in the far right of the bottom horizontal fold, in the blue background area, with no paper loss at either tear. There are a few tiny creases in the right of the top and bottom horizontal folds and the most minor of wear on the other folds. There are a few minor creases around the edges. I go into such detail on this poster because it is very valuable, and because, as noted above, it is surely one of the only unrestored examples of this poster there is. I can't imagine any collector who would not be happy to display it on their wall as it is (especially because it makes sense to keep it unrestored), but certainly, it would be the simplest of restoration jobs to have it paperbacked or linenbacked.
