An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ian Fleming's Goldfinger, the classic 1964 Guy Hamilton English James Bond 007 spy espionage fantasy action adventure thriller ("James Bond is back in action!"; "Everything he touches turns to excitement!!!"; based on the novels by Ian Fleming) starring Sean Connery ("as Agent 007"), Honor Blackman ("as Pussy Galore"), Gert Frobe (in the title role; billed as "Gert Frobe as Goldfinger"), Harold Sakata (as "Oddjob"), Shirley Eaton (as Jill Masterson, the woman covered in gold paint in the film), Tania Mallet (as Tilly Masterson), Bernard Lee (as "M"), Margaret Nolan (as the girl who provides the background for the main titles, the "nude gold girl" on posters, and also as "Dink", one of the Bond girls!), Nadja Regin, Gerry Duggan, Lois Maxwell (as Moneypenny), Richard Vernon, and Cec Linder NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of four James Bond one-sheets we were consigned for this auction (two from "You Only Live Twice", "Goldfinger", and "Dr. No"). We are auctioning them in four separate auctions. The same consignor also consigned 19 rolled or formerly folded James Bond posters, which we are auctioning in our auction of "rolled" one-sheets that runs from August 24 to August 31. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire rare James Bond posters, most of which are in nice condition, and none of which have been restored! Also note that this movie was released at the time when NSS was switching from one-sheets with a "flat" finish to ones with a "glossy" finish (this was long overdue, because the posters with a glossy finish picked up smudges and scuffs far less than the flat finish ones did, so it meant the posters could be used and reused far longer). For this movie, posters were created with both a flat AND glossy finish! Some people have speculated that one style was used for domestic theaters and the other for international, or that one was used for major theaters and the other for smaller theaters, or that one was used for regular movie theaters and the other for drive-ins, but I have been consigned both kinds of one-sheet from a single theater, so I think it was just random how they were distributed! The one-sheet in this auction is the one with the "glossy" finish. Condition: very good to fine. The poster has 1" of separation in the bottom horizontal fold to the right of the bottom crossfold.
