An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 1/2" [33 x 70 cm]) (Learn More)

Eva, La Venere Selvaggia (released in the U.S. as "King of Kong Island"), the 1968 Roberto Mauri (billed as "Robert Morris") Italian fantasy horror thriller starring Brad Harris, Esmeralda Barros (in the title role as Eva), Marc Lawrence, Adriana Alben, and Mark Farran. Note that this is one REALLY bizarre movie! It was released in Italy with a title that translates as "Eve, The Jungle Girl", and its plot concerns a mad scientist who is experimenting on gorillas trying to alter their brains so that they become killing machines for him, but a beautiful jungle girl is caught up with the gorillas, and her friend sets out to save her. Meanwhile, there is a gigantic gorilla on the island who is descended from King Kong, but apparently he has very little footage (perhaps because the movie had no budget for special effects). When the movie was released in the U.S., they seized on this subplot and re-titled it "King of Kong Island", and there was surely a lot of viewers shaking their heads wondering if they were watching the wrong movie. Of course, there probably weren't that many viewers, because the only poster we have ever seen with the "King of Kong Island" title is a single "export" Italian one-sheet so it likely played in very few places under that alternate title. Note that this would seem like one of those movies that is "so bad it is good", but apparently it fits in the "so bad it is excruciating" category!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good.
