An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French Two-Panel "Double Grande" Movie Poster (2p; measures 63" x 92" [160 x 234 cm]; printed in 2 pieces) (Learn More)

Men Like These (released in the U.S. as "Trapped in a Submarine"), the 1932 Walter Summers English historic naval submarine disaster adventure thriller ("'Gripping!' 'Terrific!' 'Awesome!' 'Powerful!' say New York critics of the dramatic picture whose stark realism in the reproduction of a recent submarine disaster is holding audiences spellbound"; about a British submarine that is accidentally rammed by a merchant ship, and it is very damaged, and the men trapped inside will all die unless a recently invented diving lung can help save the men, and can it save all of them or only some?) starring John Batten, Fat Chung, Syd Crossley, James Enstone, Atholl Fleming, Edward Gee, John Hunt, Charles Peachey, Sydney Seaward, Lesley Wareing, James Watts, Valentine White, and Wang Wong

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this French poster, and that was 5 years ago! Note that this French two-panel, which measures 63" x 93 1/2" [160 x 237 cm], seems to clearly be from the first French release of this movie, likely in 1932. But we have seen an image of the French one-panel poster, and it has pretty conventional art for that time. This great poster has really unusual different "modern" type art that would have stood out even if it had been created decades later. Also note that the poster says "after the movie 'Men Like These' from B.I.P. That would seem to leave open the possibility that this is NOT the above movie, but possibly a French version of it, but if so, we could find no reference to that. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine.
