An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More)

Urlaub auf Ehrenwort (released in the U.S. as "Furlough on Word of Honor"), the 1938 Karl Ritter German World War I (WWI) military melodrama (about a train of soldiers in Germany in 1918, near the end of World War I; the train has a six hour layover in Berlin, and all the soldiers beg the commanding officer to give them a "honor furlough", promising on their word of honor that they will return before the train leaves; the movie follows several of the soldiers who have excellent reasons to desert, but just as the train leaves, they all show up, because it is more important to them to hold to their word of honor) starring Rolf Mobius, Ingeborg Theek, Fritz Kampers, Derta Drews, and Rene Deltgen. Note that this was a Nazi propaganda movie, designed to instill a sense of honor into the current generation of young men, so they would fight for the Nazi cause. It does not appear that this movie was made either a conditional or forbidden movie after World War II, perhaps because it is set in World War I and there are not really Nazi elements. Note that this movie was released in the U.S., but only in an un-subtitled non-dubbed version, for German speaking audiences. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended).

Condition: very good to fine.
