Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster may or may not have had a blank top that was trimmed off (the other example of this poster we have seen had the exact same top as this one). There were many scuffs along the foldlines and some scattered in the image, unfortunately including many in the figure of Mathews and in the monster image. There was a tax stamp in the lower right that was removed, taking off part of the United Artists logo. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
