Date Sold 6/12/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 9 3/4" x 9 1/4" [25 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Yvette Vickers (born Iola Yvette Vedder) was an actress from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many pretty actresses have sad biographies, but Vickers is among the saddest. She had some minor film roles in the early 1950s, and then had some major roles in now well remembered B-movies including Attack of the Giant Leeches, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and Reform School Girl. In 1959, she made the decision to be the centerfold in Playboy magazine (photographed by Russ Meyer!), and that pretty much ended her film career. She appeared in other "men's magazines" in the next few years. She had several stormy marriages and lived alone in Hollywood until 2010, when her body was discovered in her home, and it was thought that she had passed away around a year before, but that nobody had discovered it in all that time. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Yvette Vickers! Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 9 3/4" x 9 1/4" [25 x 23 cm]. Note that this signed still comes from the collection of the late Bob Colman, owner of the Hollywood Poster Exchange store in Los Angeles for decades. What made this store so wonderful for collectors was that Mr. Colman sold the legendary "Cozy Theatre" collection, which he purchased (with a partner) in 1968, and it took over 30 years for him to sell the contents of that single collection, and many of the items contained in it were stamped with "Cozy Theatre" on the back, so they are easily identifiable today. But Mr. Colman was also well known for having Hollywood celebrities shop at his store, where they would often look to purchase items from movies they had appeared in. When a celebrity would come in, Mr. Colman would locate a lobby card from his inventory and ask the celebrity to sign it. Sometimes they would personalize it to him, sometimes to his wife, Janet, and sometimes they would simply sign their name. We do not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the autograph is genuine (and the still has great provenance)! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. The still has been partially trimmed around the edges (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
