Like many actors, he worked for many years in films before achieving much success, but unlike most actors, he started as a character actor, and his sheer talent made him a leading man many years later! Some of his movies include: The Odd Couple, Sunshine Boys (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Kotch (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Fortune Cookie (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), A Face in the Crowd, Charade, Fail-Safe, and The Bad News Bears. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Walter Matthau! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that this still measures 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm], but it has not been trimmed.
