An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Life of Buffalo Bill, the 1912 Paul Panzer silent biographical cowboy western short ("First Scalp for Custer"; "Thrilling incidents in the life of the last of the great scouts."; "In 3 Reels"; about an elderly Cody reminiscing about his past adventures) starring Buffalo Bill Cody (billed as "William F. Cody"), William James Craft, Irving Cummings, Paul Panzer, William V. Ranous, and Pearl White. Note that two different one-sheets from this super early movie have survived, one depicting Buffalo Bill on a horse on a cliff, with five Native American Indians sitting beneath him, and the other showing Buffalo Bill riding his horse with an image of General Custer fighting Indians above it. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded, and it had a faint scuff mark running from the bottom of the "B" of "BUFFALO" in the title down through the horse's tail, and some minor border defects, but was overall in quite nice condition prior to linenbacking (especially considering that the poster is over 90 years old!). At some point after linenbacking, the middle left of the poster was water stained. It extends into the yellow background above the Indian with the pipe, but not into the Indian's image. The water stain is really virtually unnoticeable within the yellow background. You can see the top edge of it in the white border and a tiny bit of the blue border next to it. This would not show if the poster were framed, although a restorer might recommend re-backing the poster if they thought it would be better for the poster. Learn More about condition grades
