An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Chinatown Nights, the 1929 William A. Wellman Asia Tong War romantic crime melodrama ("From Samuel Ornitz' story Tong War"; "A Talking Romance"; about a society woman who falls in love with the white leader of an Asian gang, and she ruins her life, but he truly loves her, and he nobly sacrifices himself so she can regain her former status) starring Wallace Beery, Florence Vidor, Warner Oland (playing an evil Oriental; this is ironic since he later became famous as "Charlie Chan" in the 20th Century Fox series!), Jack McHugh and Jack Oakie. Note that it was after this movie that Florence Vidor retired, and the movie was shot as a silent, and she quit before it could have sound added, and she refused to return to do the dubbing, and it was dubbed by a different actress instead (a very similar thing happened to Louise Brooks with "The Canary Murder Case", which was made the same year by Paramount)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. There is staining on the cardboard holder, but the slide itself is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
