A 1966 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, the classic 1959 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime suspense thriller ("The Master of Suspense weaves his greatest tale... about a secret that nobody knew... a man who never existed... and a love affair that began in an upper berth - and ended in screaming death!"; "From the killer plane in the cornfield to the cliff-hanger on George Washington's nose, it's suspense in every direction!"; "The master of suspense spins his greatest tale"; "A train may be an old-fashioned way to travel, but an upper berth can be a lovely way to go - When It's Your Time To Go......"; "Breathless excitement that races from glittering Manhattan to the great stone faces of Mt. Rushmore!"; "Written by Ernest Lehman") starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, James Mason, Jessie Royce Landis, Leo G. Carroll, Martin Landau, Edward Platt, and Phillip Ober NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, in 1966, MGM re-released this classic 1959 Alfred Hitchcock movie, and created new posters that most collectors feel are superior to that of the original! It has the classic scene of Cary Grant being chased by the crop-duster biplane, plus it shows Mt. Rushmore (and Hitchcock is one of the faces!), plus there is an image of Hitchcock holding a giant hand, plus there is a new tagline that reads, "Only Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock ever gave you so much suspense in so many directions so we brought it back!" Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is a 1/2" u-shaped tear in the "N" in "GRANT" in the tagline area at lower left that has been neatly repaired with glue from the back and paint from the front and there appears to have been some 'touch-up' of some of the adjacent lettering in that area. There are minor creases scattered throughout the poster and there is a tack hole and small tear in each corner of the poster that have been repaired similarly to the above-mentioned tear. Overall, the poster displays pretty well but the restoration is visible on close inspection and the poster would benefit from a small amount of further restoration and it would display great!
