Important Added Info: Note that this poster was consigned to us by a man in the movie business who acquired this poster in 1982 from Universal, and we are 100% certain it is from the second printing of this poster as described in detail below, and that it is NOT a later printing! Note that when this movie was first released, a very small number of 27" x 41" posters with the "bike over the moon" image were created and personally distributed by Steven Spielberg to friends and associates directly involved in the production of the film. These are known as the first printing "bike over the moon" posters and are virtually impossible to find! Very shortly after those were made, the studio created a limited number of these 26 3/4" x 40 1/2" bike over the moon posters for the 1982 first release, and that is the poster we are offering here (and this style of poster is indeed difficult to find, much more difficult than the other styles created for this movie). These are known as the second printing "bike over the moon" posters. Please bid knowing that this is the original 26 3/4" x 40 1/2" second printing "bike over the moon" poster, but that it is NOT from the small run of first printing "bike over the moon" posters personally distributed by Spielberg (but the second printing IS a rare and desirable poster)! Please also note that that we know that there are many reproductions of this poster, and one of the ways to tell if it is an original is by the measurements. We want bidders to know that this poster is 100% original! For those who know the exact measurements of the original, know that we carefully measured the poster and confirm that it measures exactly 26 3/4" x 40 1/2" (reproductions are smaller), and that the top blank border measures 13/16" and that the bottom blank border measures 3/4", and that the left and right borders are 7/8". Please bid with confidence that this poster is 100% the original theatrical poster from 1982! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has some scuff marks in the lower left blue sky area, just above the trees. It also has some faint creases scattered throughout. Because the scuff marks look like they could be part of the background, the poster can display well as it is, or certainly, any restorer can touch up just that area, either with or without backing the poster. Either way, the poster will look great on the new owner's wall, but do bear in mind the scuffs described above (and see them in our super-sized image) before bidding on this poster.
