An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in Argentina) Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures approximately 29" x 43") (Learn More) The Challenge, the 1938 Milton Rosmer & Luis Trenker English Swiss Alps mountain climbing romantic adventure melodrama (a dramatization of the first climbing of the Matterhorn in 1865), starring Robert Douglas, Frank Birch, Geoffrey Wardwell, Luis Trenker, and Joan Gardner. Note that star/director Luis Trenker is a fascinating forgotten man in the history of film! He started out helping Arnold Fanck on his mountain movies. He became a filmmaker in the 1930s, making movies about how country life was better than city life, and the Nazis wanted him to make movies for them. He moved to Rome and made two documentaries there. After the war, he was accused of being a Fascist, but the charges were eventually dropped and he started making movies again, but before long, he only made documentaries and writing about mountains, his first love. He died at the age of 97 in 1990! Artist: Moraga Condition: good. The poster is slightly discolored and brittle and there is tattering and separation along the foldlines and edges. There is some writing on the back of the poster but it does not appear to have any effect on the front. Learn More about condition grades
