The Faithful City, the 1952 Joseph Lejtes (billed as "Josef Leytes") Israeli/U.S. melodrama ("Drama that sounds the heartcry of a nation!"; "The first great Israeli production...played by a superb English-speaking cast."; the first movie made in Israel after it received its independence; naturally, it dealt with the birth of Israel, and had a major subplot that focused on World War II Jewish orphans brought to Israel, and their difficulty adapting and recovering from the war) starring Jamie Smith, Didi Ramati, Dina Peskin, John Slater, Ben Josef, and Rachel Markus
