An Original Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6" [11 x 15 cm]) (Learn More) Dracula, the 1931 George Melford Universal vampire monster horror thriller starring Lupita Tovar, Barry Norton, Carlos Villarias (in the title role as Conde Dracula), Pablo Alvarez Rubio (as Renfield), Barry Norton, Eduardo Arozamena (as Van Helsing), and Jose Soriano Viosca. Note that this Spanish-language version was filmed on the same sets and at the same time as the English-language Bela Lugosi version of Dracula. The English-language version was filmed during the day, and the Spanish-language version was filmed at night. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: M. Guarne Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned two different Spanish heralds from this Spanish language version of this movie. They were very similar, but one had green interior pages, and the other one had red interior pages. One had overprinting on the back from a theater in Seville, Spain, while the other one had overprinting on the back from a theater in Casares, Spain. Now we have been consigned a third example of this herald, and it is from a third theater, this one in Catalonia, Spain! This third one also has red interior pages, but there is an important difference from both of the earlier ones we auctioned (which sold for $855 and $625). This herald is dated on the back, November 7 and 8, 1931. This is not to say that the other two are not also from 1931, just that it is nice to have absolute proof printed on the herald! We imagine that this movie was so popular that there was more than one printing of this herald, and they varied the color on the interior, likely due to what color ink was most in supply on the day they printed them! That other herald that we auctioned in our Halloween auction sold for $625 and was in "very good" condition. This herald is in slightly better condition (but still "very good"). So this is a second opportunity to acquire this herald (and given that we had never seen another in all our years of auctioning prior to our Halloween auction, it may be years more before we are consigned another). Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Condition: very good. There is a faint diagonal crease in the upper left of the image running from the left border along one of the spider webs to Vallarias' chin. It is really quite faint and barely noticeable. There is a matching crease on the back cover that is also very faint. There is pencil writing on the back cover, in the top blank area. Otherwise, the herald is in nice condition.
