An Original 1953 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28 1/2" [56 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan's Magic Fountain, the 1949 Lee Sholem African jungle action adventure fantasy thriller ("Murderous thugs invade jungle Palace of Eternal Life!"; "Jungle gunmen fight leopard-man warriors... ...in search of billion dollar secret!"; "Based upon the Characters Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs"; "Screen Play by Curt Siodmak and Harry Chandlee") starring Lex Barker (in the title role as Tarzan), Brenda Joyce (as Jane), Albert Dekker, Evelyn Ankers, Charles Drake, Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918; in a cameo role as a fisherman!), and Cheetah (the chimpanzee). Note that Maureen O'Sullivan tired of playing Jane in the Tarzan movies, and in 1943, two Tarzan movies were made with no Jane at all, and in 1945, she was replaced by Brenda Joyce, who played the role in five movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 22" x 28 1/2" [56 x 72 cm]. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Prior to being kraftbacked it was fully folded. Condition: fair. The poster was kraftbacked (see above). It has many creases and scuffs, and some patches of discoloration. Some aspiring artist drew a pencil grid over Barker's face at upper right. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above.
