Date Sold 8/15/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) There's Millions In It, the 1924 Denison Clift English silent romantic adventure melodrama ("Adapted from 'Men of Affairs', A Saturday Evening Post story by Roland Pertwee"; a feature film that feels more like a serial; there is a man who is trying to find radium in the Balkans, and there are rivals trying to get there ahead of him, and he finds an exact double of himself, and he hires him to pose as him so that his enemies will be thrown off the track, and after many adventures, he finds the radium, and his double wins the pretty girl!) starring Clive Brook (in a dual role), Catherine Calvert, and Norman Page. Note that it was a pretty common plot device in silent movies to not only have people meet their exact double, but also to then go on to impersonate them. I wonder if this happens much in real life! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good to very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Learn More about condition grades
