A Close Call for Boston Blackie, the 1946 Lew Landers Massachusetts criminal-turned-detective mystery crime thriller ("Blackie answers the call to arms... and lands in the arms of the Law!"; "Blackie's up to his neckin' trouble again!"; "Blackie trips a blonde... To trap a killer!"; as usual, Blackie is falsely accused of murder, and he must find the real murderer to clear himself) starring Chester Morris (in the title role as Boston Blackie), Lynn Merrick, Richard Lane, Frank Sully, and George E. Stone. Note that this is one of fourteen movies made in the 1940s with Chester Morris playing the fictional character "Boston Blackie", a former crook turned detective (there had been ten silent movies made in the 1920s), all of which were based on short stories by Jack Boyle.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds, with some tears and small paper loss on parts of the rest of the folds and tears and tiny paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, part of the NSS number was missing at bottom right, and the restorer guessed at what should be there, and they got it wrong.
