Date Sold 5/10/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 15" [36 x 38 cm]; mounted to a board that measures 14" x 19") (Learn More) The Naughty Nineties, the 1945 Jean Yarbrough historical gambling screwball comedy ("Who's on First? Hear Abbott and Costello Tell Their Famous 'Baseball' story!"; about card sharks taking over a Mississippi riverboat and trying to convert it into a gambling casino) starring Bud Abbott ("Bud '23 Skidoo' Abbott"), Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello; "Lou 'Oh You Kid' Costello"), Alan Curtis, Rita Johnson, Henry Travers, Lois Collier, Joe Sawyer, Adelaide De Lapp, and Billy Ward. Note that some of the posters for this movie depict Abbott and Costello in baseball uniforms, with the tagline "WHO'S ON FIRST? Hear Abbott and Costello tell their famous 'BASEBALL' STORY!", and this is the only first release Abbott and Costello movie that has posters that feature them performing this most classic routine (the compilation film, "World of Abbott & Costello", also has posters that depict them performing this routine). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 15" [36 x 38 cm]. It was later glued to a heavy board that measures 14" x 19". Note that this window card is from a remarkable collection of 24 Abbott & Costello window cards (in 24 separate auctions) that a VERY dedicated collector assembled over many years! He has now consigned them to us, so this is a rare opportunity to purchase any of these window cards at one time, and of course, if one was dedicated enough, one could purchase all 24 and duplicate what took him decades to accomplish in a single day! Condition: fair to good. Someone glued the window card (which was missing its top right corner and had its top blank area trimmed off) to a heavy board with excess at the bottom, but they did no restoration.
