We feel pretty certain these are test prints, because they were printed on the back of advertising posters for a company called "Hydro-Aire", and each print was printed on the back of a small part of a larger poster. Gil (Gillette) Elvgren was an American pin-up artist and illustrator from the 1930s to 1980. His clients ranged from Brown and Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping. He is one of the most important pin-up and glamour artists of the twentieth century. He passed away in 1980 at the age of 66. Note that the items in this lot are mostly from the 1940s to the 1950s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of the front and back of all of them. Measurements: 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"Condition: very good.
