The Blues Brothers are an American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi for a sketch on TV's "Saturday Night Live". The band released an album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978, and then starred in a major (and now considered classic) Hollywood film, The Blues Brothers, in 1980. After the death of Belushi in 1982, the Blues Brothers continue to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members. Band members have included: John Belushi (as 'Joliet' Jake Blues), Dan Aykroyd (as Elwood Blues), Matt 'Guitar' Murphy, Steve 'The Colonel' Cropper, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, Paul 'The Shiv' Shaffer, Steve 'Getdwa' Jordan, Lou 'Blue Lou' Marini, Tom 'Triple Scale' Scott, Tom 'Bones' Malone, and Alan 'Mr. Fabulous' Rubin

UPDATED 01/13/2017: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that this album is not the soundtrack to the 1980 The Blue Brothers film as we originally listed. This is the 1978 debut album of The Blues Brothers band.
