She also had immense success as a musician prior, during, and after her movie career. Some of her movies include: Cabin in the Sky, Stormy Weather, and Till the Clouds Roll By! She passed away in 2010 at the age of 92. Important Added Info: What a wonderful news photo (which measures 7 1/4" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]) this is! It shows Lena Horne presenting checks sent by "Negro soldiers from far off Pacific battlefields"! The checks were for the United Negro College Fund, which was seeking to raise $1,550,00 to help fund 32 private Negro colleges. Interestingly, Miss Horne is giving the checks to Thomas A.
